Friends of Sitka Animal Shelter is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. All donations are tax-deductible and directly benefit the community of Sitka and the animals that reside at the shelter and in our foster care program.

The Burgess Bauder Memorial Fund (formerly known as the Compassionate Care Fund) was started by a local family who wanted to ensure that all pet owners could access the veterinary care needed to keep their furry companions happy, healthy and in their loving homes, which is what Dr. Burgess Bauder strived to do throughout his veterinary career. We are honored to be able to manage this fund and distribute as needed to pet owners in Sitka. All donations go directly towards helping low-income pet owners access veterinary care.
